I always wonder who falls for those Craigslist scams. It’s unfortunate people have to learn the hard way. Just looking on the first page of my hometown Craigslist and there are 10 fraudulent ads. Sick.

I’m so confused, the first part of the article says Craiglist and then the second part says Ebay. If it was a scam on eBay then they should be liable for the undelivered goods, no?

The scam was on Craigslist.
I’m not entirely familiar with Ebay’s policy. Ebay puts out a lot of info on car scams. I’m sure she was led there somehow.

I'm in the process of selling a TV on CL. The first person who contacted me offered to pay $40 more in exchange for holding it, and he would pay with a cashier's check. Mind you I was asking $300. I told him I would hold it for free and cash was okay. As you can imagine, I never heard back.
